Good morning everyone! Our trip orientation has begun. Saturday was our registration day. Sara and I went together and were given our name tag, itinerary, t-shirt and licence plate, yes we get a 'licence plate' for our bikes! We had to find a place to put our bikes, which was hard because there are a lot of bikes here🚵🏻♀️We were also given 2 laundry baskets for our things. My first thought was my big duffle bag will not fit in that laundry basket. However it was soon clarified that we divide our clothes between the baskets and leave our tent and sleeping stuff in the duffle bag which will just get piled in between the shelves of the gear truck each morning and taken out each evening. We walked over to the gear truck and put our claim to a shelf. We had some time to meet other riders and volunteers, breaking the ice and making new friendships! We had a long meeting Saturday evening detailing expectations, what we have to do, and who to go to for problems and also separating into groups of cyclists biking all the way, part and volunteers, age categories from teenagers to one man in his early 80s, Canadian and American, ladies and men etc! It was fun and inspiring to see all these different people coming together as one group, one family. The evening ended with an ice cream social!!!
