I have biked over 1000 km this year!!!
I started training as much as I could at the beginning of March, however with the snow and cold I couldn't bike every day. Now I have been going strong since the beginning of April biking 6 out of 7 days. I missed 2 days last weekend because I had a nasty cough and cold. Yesterday I biked 94.2 km, going to Falkland and back. The elevation climbing was 515 meters. In comparison I looked at our schedule for the first week of the trip and the biggest climb then is about 1200m in one day.
So as April ends here are my training stats:
Total KM this month: 900
Avg Speed: 20km/h
Top Daily Avg Speed: 25.1kmh
Lowest Daily Average Speed: 17.2km/h
Top Daily KM: 94.2km
Lowest Daily KM: 15.2km
Biggest Climb: 515m
And on that note, I am noticing that climbing hills is getting easier. I have biked to school 6 times with a distance of 9.2km and a climb of 155m. I have cut my time from 39 minutes down to 36 minutes. My goal is to get down to 30 minutes, which may be a stretch, but hey, what are goals for!
Countdown until The Big Trip: 57 days
Until next time,
Jennifer Wikkerink
Once again, thank you everyone for your continued prayer and support!
