Amazing Day!!!! What a nice break today! We got up and we're on the road by 7:25 this morning. We biked at a good pace, barely being passed by anyone until the first rest stop. We decided to try and be very optimistic today, we travelled on inverted downhills and passed by a couple of party lines and had a few joint massages 😜!!! In other words we had a few minor uphills, biked by a couple of train tracks and had a few bumpier sections! At the first rest stop we were joined by Gary Bomhof, a retired pastor, who rode with us the rest of the way. We had a great ride with him and he even had us doing interval sprints every 10 km. He said he's been doing it all along and we can tell because he is definitely getting faster. We had a north west wind today and we were heading mostly south with a little bit of east. This meant we had an off centre tail wind for a lot of it. It was much appreciated. I may or may not have taken a few pictures while biking! 😇 The sky with the clouds was gorgeous. When we got to camp we saw all the tents set up around the perimeter of the field, meaning a long walk to the gear truck and washrooms, I'm not sure why they do that! One comment was, to avoid those who snore, which I agree isn't nice, but they can't help themselves too much, so why make such a big deal about it. Anyways we set our tent up very close to the gear truck and as I was walking around it to put my stuff in, it slid further away! So I changed directions and went after it but it slid further in a different direction, Sara was pulling it away, we had a good laugh. You can tell we had a good day because we had the energy to joke! We also raced to see who could pump up their air mattress first (they have a built in foot pump and are 6in thick), Sara beat me! We arrived in camp at the Northome School around 2:30 which was really nice, now we can relax. Dinner was good and so was the peloton. Prayer Request: it was brought to our attention that the Warroad Border Port Director wasn't able to meet us at the border yesterday because his 4 year old son has cancer and had to have his lower leg amputated. Please pray for the Olafsen family.
